A Friend In Need-Battling Brain Tumor With Joan Chebet Mashong’ Teka

I am supposed to be very asleep right now, but by the end of this post, you will fully understand why I am wide awake. This is a very important post for me.

Joan Chebet is a very special friend of mine. She is an alumnus of Maseno University class of 05, and she did Eco-tourism, Hotel and Institutional Management, which as Masenerians love calling ECOHIM. She was also the treasurer of our Student Organization of Maseno University (SOMU) in the year 2007/2008. In that time, she was probably the most soft-spoken of the group, but in my book, she was the best treasurer our organization ever got the chance to have. She topped off her leadership, friendliness, and charisma with the most disarming smile in the world( I will post a photo she has no idea I have of her) *feeling very victorious*

With Joy Anangwe and Dorcas Bett, Joan Chebet made the trifecta of the three lady friends I had who were in SOMU.

My friend Joan was recently diagnosed with brain tumor and she requires our help to get the necessary treatment.

This is the message that will explain a little more.

If you were in Maseno University between 2005 and 2012 you either have seen her face or even interacted with her. She’s probably the most beautiful treasurer SOMU has ever had.

JOAN CHEBET TEKA (ECOHIM Class of 05) has been diagnosed with a BRAIN TUMOR and needs to undergo URGENT HEAD SURGERY on 9/08/2012 at A.I.C Kijabe Mission Hospital. The photos on the left are medical scans of the affected area.

Chebet needs Sh 500, 000 and as her friends let us please try to help her family raise this amount in any small way we can both in cash and kind. Above all let’s remember Chebet and her family in our prayers during this trying time.

The fundraising will be held in Nairobi this Sunday 27/07/2012 at 2.00 p.m. at the YMCA.

You can send your M-PESA contributions to her cell number 0720-01 67 87 or contact Emma Malin on 0726 66 99 25 for further details. No amount is too small. A friend in need is a friend indeed and many hands make work lighter. God Bless You.

Let us do something special for Joan.

1. Be there for the fundraiser with her on the 29th of July 2012.

2. Contribute via M-PESA for her to get the treatment that she needs.

3. Test her or call her on the number 0720-01 67 87, she may not know you physically, but God can see the effort that you are making to help and encourage our lovely sister. You can also write on her Facebook wall here.

4. PRAY, PRAY and PRAY. Doctors can not be able to do anything unless God allows it.

I believe that Joan touched your life, in one way or the other, share with us below in the comments section, and let her know how much of a treasure she was to you.

Rarest of smiles

Thank you for your support and God bless you all.
