Many of us are in relationships. Some are in what I like to call “Honeymoon Phase.”This is the time when everything is okay and your partner is the perfect gentleman/lady. Some are in the “Discovery Phase”.This is the time when you realize that your partner is not as good as you had first thought.
Today however,I would like to focus more on our friendships and not just on relationships. Who do you consider to be your friend? Why are they your friend? An interesting question would be,if they knew you as much as you do,would they still be your friends? What holds your friendship together? I know of people who were only my friends when I was in trouble and in need of their help. The moment that I started to open up my eyes and solve a few things in my life and sort out my issues(essentially become a better person),they started severing ties with me.
It is a pity that we can be so. We only have friends who are “below” us. We cannot associate with those we consider better than us.Thqt is the spirit of selfishness. It doesn’t really matter what religion you profess, selfishness ruins everything.
The only true remedy to cure selfishness is love. Love always looks at personal joy and puts it in the back-seat. Love is when you do something that is just for the benefit of others, not for yourself. Love is not about “me,me,me.”
The first murder was because of selfishness. Cain was jealous of the fact that Abel’s offering was accepted. He could have just asked Abel what his secret was, so that he would be better the next time. Indeed, the first sin was because man thought he could be better than his maker. He sought equality to God. He sought the allure of being a god himself.
(KJV)1 Corinthians 13:4-8
Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.
To have love is to have reached the epitome of all goodness. Love is indeed the way to express truth in its purest form. Love, love, love. Love makes the world go round. On our own, we are unable to truly love. This is because in our natural way of life, we are not inclined to love others but ourselves.
God looks at us and still loves us.Only His love makes us able to love.
Know LOVE. His name is Jehova.
